How do you manage your time? Do you have a feeling every few days that you missed out on something? that you could do more in your time but “didn’t have the chance”?
If you can’t find your desk – and have not been able to for years, then I recommend reading this book. I have reread this one several times in the last couple of years, and my desks (at home and at School management system) attest to the fact that I’ve followed much of his advice.
As a teacher you must realize that this is not a one shot quick fix situation. You may need to persevere for many weeks and months to even establish the first vestige of a positive relationship.
3 Basic interview skills. How to apply for a job, proper attire and practice mock interviews. Most people are very poor at these skills. I see it daily in Edulabs my office.
Imagine this scenario. You wake up with great energy. You have a quick drink of water then work out for 30 minutes or go for your morning run. Then shower and breakfast, then off to your office.
Recently I got introduced to the website/software “RescueTime.”. Here you can download an application that tracks your time, and if you choose to use the paid version you can also program it to block out certain media during certain hours. I have now used it for a week, and it is an eye-opener. I easily get sucked in to social media, for example, and RescueTime tells me how much time I’ve spent on it.
Going forward, we must include more life skill instruction or face the consequences of having an entire generation that needs Government assistance to make ends meet. Based on our giant Government deficit, we cannot afford this to happen now or in the future. Plan now or face consequences later.
